BEYOND is the world’s most powerful laser and multimedia control software. It’s used by lighting professionals of all kinds to design, create, program, visualize, and render laser effects. BEYOND is a true multimedia software package, created to help make it easy for you to integrate lasers, into any type of setup, and combine those lasers with audio, video, pyro, and other special effects. With support for all major lighting protocols (DMX, ArtNET, CITP, sACN, SMPTE, MIDI, and more). BEYOND allows you to design all types of laser effects… From aerial beam effects, to graphics, text, logos, 3D animated objects, laser mapping sequences, and more.

As a BEYOND client, you can also upgrade your software between the different levels as you see fit. And this can be done at any time.
Software Overview:
- Advanced LIVE control: BEYOND has the world’s most advanced live laser show engine, with incredible support for MIDI, DMX and ArtNet devices. Using BEYOND’s powerful scripting tools, you can actually design your own custom profiles and maps for those devices as you see fit. Or if you need an easy button, just use one of our stock maps or profiles.
- A true multimedia timeline: The BEYOND Multimedia Timeline allows you to combine laser, video, audio, DMX lighting and more, all in one easy to use and convenient place. Because of this, BEYOND is widely used throughout the lighting industry, as the main control systems for complete multimedia show performances (combining lasers, video, lighting, audio, pyro and more).

Minimum Computer Specifications:
The minimal recommended system requirements for BEYOND are:
- PC Notebook or Desktop with quad core processor such as Intel i5, 2.5GHz or better
- 4Gb of RAM or more
- Intel graphics card HD 4000 or better
- Windows 7, 32 or 64 Bit or higher
- 5 Gb free disk space
- Free usb port in case of FB3/dongle
- 1Gbit Ethernet port or faster for FB4
Big projects with multiple laser controllers will require a computer with higher specifications.
The BEYOND License Times:
Pangolin offers two distinct purchasing options for BEYOND software. Giving you the freedom to choose which method or option works best for you.
- With a Lifetime license, you own the software for life and can use it as long as you desire (so long as your computer operating system remains compatible).
- With a rental license, you can choose the duration of time you want to use the software, and pay as you go. We offer a 1-month rental licenses on the site (which are non-refundable, even if they’re not activated).
The BEYOND License Types:
Pangolin offers three license types to choose from:
- Hardware License
Choose the Hardware License option for BEYOND software to license your Pangolin hardware device. After an initial setup on your PC, you can disconnect the hardware and use BEYOND for editing. Reconnect the licensed hardware within 14 days. For laser output, the licensed hardware must stay connected. This setup is ideal for permanent installations, tours, or offline use. Defective hardware can be replaced at a Pangolin service center. If hardware is lost or stolen, it’s your responsibility to replace it.
- Account License (Internet Managed)
Opt for the User Account License for BEYOND software. Upon software startup, create and activate your account-based license. This enables you to use BEYOND on your chosen PC. You can also shift the license between PCs: connect the new PC to the internet, activate it with BEYOND, and the previous PC deactivates. This flexibility suits clients who want to move licenses. Note that this license type requires occasional internet connection for authenticity verification.
- PCID License
Opt for the PC-Specific License for BEYOND software, primarily for development and testing. In rare instances, we approve PCID licenses for specific show needs, subject to our discretion. With a PCID license, your software is permanently linked to your PC, allowing any connected Pangolin hardware to function with BEYOND.- If your PC becomes inoperative, the license is lost.
- If your PC is lost or stolen, replacement is your responsibility. Contact us for support in such cases.
FAQ:
- Can I install my license on multiple PCs?
- Hardware License – If you choose this option, BEYOND software can be installed onto multiple machines. But, you will only be able to work with the software on one PC at a time. And, the PC you choose to work with, must see the licensed hardware one time. Additionally and as noted above, you will need to reconnect your licensed hardware every 14-days.
- Account based License – If you choose this option, BEYOND software can be used on one PC at a time. If you wish to move your license to a different PC, you need to connect to the internet, deactivate the original license, and activate it on your other PC.
- PCID License – If you choose this option, BEYOND software is licensed to the physical PC. It cannot be used on multiple PCs or moved from one PC to the next.
- Can I convert my rental license to a lifetime license? No… These are entirely different types of licenses, and one cannot be covered to the other format.
- How does the purchasing work? The BEYOND software is purchased in our webshop, and after you complete the checkout, you will receive the license code automatically via email from our server, within one-hour time.
Customize BEYOND for your needs:
- PangoScript Tool: PangoScript is a tool inside of BEYOND that allows you to access the core of the software, and customize it to meet your needs. Using PangoScript, you can write individual code commands to execute just about any function you can imagine. For example, if you want to map out a MIDI, DMX or LIGHTING CONSOLE and customize what each knob, button, and slider does, this is easily achieved, using PangoScript.
- BEYOND Universe: The BEYOND Universe is an exciting feature that allows you to create customized workspaces within the software, to meet your specific show needs. For example, if wanted to have a workspace with specific sliders for colors, brightness, rotation, DMX triggers, etc. and you wanted to lock this workspace for a client or show, so that it cannot be changed, this is all possible using the BEYOND Universe.
* Software development kit is also available. - 3D Laser animations and content: BEYOND 3D is an advanced 3D animation and editing program, designed specifically for laser displays. Using BEYOND 3D you can create animated 3D laser content, as well as 3D laser text, graphics and logos. BEYOND 3D is also compatible with other 3D animation and drawing programs, including 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender and others (using the .FBX file format).
- It’s like Photoshop for lasers: Advanced Drawing Program and Frame Editor
BEYOND includes an advanced drawing program and frame editor, that make creating custom content, as well as editing existing content, easier than ever before. It works in a similar fashion as the popular Photoshop program, but was designed specifically to support laser content and frames. - The abstract, alive in laser: BEYOND’s Abstract Generators
BEYOND comes with two different abstract editors that can be used to create amazing abstract laser displays. - Beautiful content, at your fingertips: If you enjoy simplicity and don’t want to be bothered with programming content, you will love BEYOND. The software includes nearly 2,000 pieces of stock laser clipart, and hundreds of FREE laser shows. Simply click the cue or show you want to display, and you are up and running in seconds.
- Pangolin Cloud…It’s like iTunes for laser shows: The innovative new Pangolin cloud provides you with a nearly infinite stream of fresh content to choose from. All easily downloaded directly within the software. Think of having your very own “iTunes” for laser shows, cues and content, built right inside the program. - High definition output, and scan speed support: The FB3QS and FB4 hardware were designed to help improve the output from your laser projector. Giving you high-definition looking laser effects. In addition, the software supports high-speed scanners inside of professional laser projectors. So no matter what laser projector you are using, BEYOND can help optimize this. We also offer a full line of professional laser projectors, made to work perfectly with BEYOND software. Our systems are entirely built in Europe, and integrate a variety of Pangolin technology, providing you with a laser experience, like no other.
